So what is the purpose of a retreat?

On the outside, it is easy to look and see nothing but a weekend of fun and games. We see something so much greater than that! Sure, people like having a good time, but West Coast Rush is about encountering God; it is about bringing God's people, His children, into community for one weekend to learn, be encouraged, and worship Him. We live in a world that is constantly trying to tear us down, constantly trying to rip us apart, to rip us from God, and as much as we wish that the Church was immune to all of that, it isn't. Paul writes about a similar church in Galatians 4. He writes to a church that is struggling, a well-intentioned church, but a church that has lost focus of what truly matters and Paul asks them, "What has happened to all of your joy?" West Coast Rush is an event designed to help the college student, young adult, or 20-something step out of this world and step into community with their brothers and sisters in Christ. It is about rediscovering joy for God and being equipped to go live out and share their faith. Whether you are a college student looking for a place of refuge or a ministry leader in your local church, we hope that you will prayerfully consider joining with us for our next retreat.
